Post Season Awards roll in for Pope’s record breaking team
Pope faspitch is proud to announce that another milestone has been reached for the record breaking 2009 team. The 2009 Lady Greyhounds team has garnered a record breaking 8 post season awards!

Pope fastpitch is proud to announce that two Lady Greyhounds have been selected to represent Pope on the Region 6-AAAAA all region team and eight Lady Greyhounds have been selected to represent Pope on the Marietta Daily Journal All-county team!

The all-county team is made up of athletes from each school in the county. The majority of the athletes are from Region 5-AAAAA and 6-AAAAA but can also be selected from private schools located throughout the county. The All region team is made up of representatives from each of the schools in region 6-AAAAA which differs slightly from the athletes on the all county team because region 6-AAAAA is made up of both Cobb County and Fulton county schools.

Sophomore Rachel Dennis and junior Claire White earned all region honors this season as well as All county honors. Rachel was named 2nd team all county while Claire was an all-county honorable mention selection. For the season, Rachel led the team with a .396 batting average and a .475 on base percentage. Rachel also stole 16 bases for the season placing her in the top 5 base stealers in the county. Claire hit .338 for the season and led the team in stolen bases with 18 which places her in the top 4 in the county in that statistical category.
